However, aluminum oxide finishes (factory finishes) do help floors maintain their original good looks longer. There are other finishes, too, like hard wax oils to enhance the finish of the floor.

Just witness the addition of more and more exotic woods from South America, Australia, the Far East and Africa as well as China and Russia. Speaking of Russia, there are beginning to appear Siberian wood products which are not stained but rather dyed with various colored oils, resulting in looks such as natural, white and black.
