For over 150 years, Godfrey Hirst has been a world-wide producer of high quality tufted wool carpets.  Based in Australia, the North American headquarters located in Roswell, Georgia opened over ten years ago to provide the U.S. and Canada the high quality wool carpet for which the company is known.

Godfrey Hirst is proud of its 150 year history.  It continues to manufacture residential and commercial broadloom carpets in all fibers, while specializing in the production of wool broadloom products.

Making Sense of Carpet

Choosing the right carpet involves understanding its many facets.  Fiber, constructions, manufacturing, pad, installation -  all of these are keys to making an informed and correct decision.  Godfrey Hirst’s vast array of premium wool carpets, combines styles created by using large selection of the latest colors, patterns and textures to provide the classic and practical beauty you expect from a versatile line of flooring that can coordinate with today's home environment.

Godfrey Hirst predominantly uses New Zealand wool for its carpets. With some 40 million sheep grazing on beautiful, lush green pastures, use of New Zealand wool ensures an environmentally sustainable fiber that is the cleanest and whitest wool in the world.  The Wools of New Zealand Brand represents the standard of excellence in wool carpets.  Godfrey Hirst USA and Godfrey Hirst Carpets of Canada are proud licensed partners with Wools of New Zealand, requiring our products to meet demanding quality standards and fiber content requirements.  The name and trademark, used exclusively on products containing at least 80 percent wool, with the majority (60%) being New Zealand wool, are applied only to carpets and rugs that have met the highest performance and environmental specifications.

Godfrey Hirst is also a proud partner with the Campaign for Wool.  Follow the Green Sheep and Choose Wool.
